On July, 23 Deputy Prime Minister — Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin had a  working visit to the Elbrus region. He was also accompanied by Head of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Kanokov and Director General of OJSC “Northern Caucasus Resorts” (NCR) Sergey Vereshchagin.

The objects of existing skiing resort were demonstrated to the Deputy Prime Minister. Honored guests took the cable car  to the "Mir" station (3500 m above sea level), where they discussed the collaboration between the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria and "NCR" in the framework of the Elbrus-Bezengi project, as well as possible options of granting equal status to residents of the resorts and the special economic zones.. They also highlighted the necessity for Kabardino-Balkaria and “NCR” to actively cooperate in the sphere of joint projects and studied the possibilities of the construction of the "Elbrus-3" the lift (1000 m long) from "Mir" station to "Gara-Bashi" station (3780 m above sea level).
