OJSC 'Northern Caucasus Resorts'  was awarded Global Eco Brand of the international ecological movement Terra Viva. Solemn award ceremony took place in the international marathon of RIA-Novosti, devoted to the outset of the Year of Environment in Russia.

According to acting general  director of ‘NCR’ Islam Nazaraliyev,  who was present at the event, during the project implementation of the tourism cluster project company will adhere the principles of ‘green’ construction, apply advanced technology in power saving, water conservation, waste management, etc.

He outlined the company's plans on the implementation of environmental-oriented management of special economic zones (SEZ). ‘Right now the plan is developed with respect to the SEZ in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea, next year we will develop plans for the SEZ in the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania and Karachay-Cherkesia," - said Nazaraliev.

As part of an environmentally oriented strategy the company has established active cooperation with environmental organizations such as WWF Russia, NABU, movement Terra Viva, the administrations of protected areas and the executive authority of the regions.

The list of activities to be carried out ‘NCR’ in the framework of the Year of Environment, Islam Nazaraliyev named the creation of the Natural Park in Karachay-Cherkesia, the restoration of eco-tourism routes through the Caucasus, youth volunteer actions for cleaning, landscaping and planting areas adjacent to the zones of the future resorts, continuing work on the reintroduction of the population of European Bison in the Caucasus.

‘We understand how much it is important that the project supports the ecological balance in the region. Caucasus - is not only the highest mountains in Europe, but at first place of untouched nature, clean air. Caucasus is one of the first places in the world for ecological diversity, so our challenge  is to save all this wealth in its original form’, - said Islam Nazaraliyev.

Award Global Eco Brand was established by ‘The National Center of Global Information Management’ and public organization promoting environmental protection Terra Viva to draw attention to the environmental problems of today, the promotion of companies that support the conservation of natural resources, environment and ecology, environmental awareness and promote the formation of philosophy a healthy lifestyle.

2013 was announced by President of Russia Vladimir Putin as a Year of Environment. The corresponding decree was signed by the president in August, 2012. Within the framework of the Year the country will held a series of activities aimed at raising public awareness of environmental issues in Russia, finding solutions, the formation of ecological awareness.
