Dmitry Medvedev got acquainted with the plans for development of North Caucasus Resorts during the Forum Sochi-2015

Today, October 2, within the framework of the International Investment Forum Sochi-2015, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, visited the stand of North Caucasus Resorts OJSC, where Lev Kuznetsov, Minister of North Caucasus Affairs, and Oleg Gorchev, Director General NCR OJSC, told the Prime Minister about the progress in implementation of the tourism cluster project.

In response to a question of Dmitry Medvedev about the readiness of the first stage of the project facilities, Oleg Gorchev said that, as part of the special economic zone in the Elbrus region, NCR OJSC built the highest in Europe lift to the elevation point of 3847 meters that have already attracted the attention of a large number of potential tourists. He said that the new cableway will be put into operation in the next ski season. Oleg Gorchev also added that, simultaneously with the new infrastructure on Mount Elbrus, the Company will put into operation, by the ski season of 2015/2016, the second tourist village of Arkhyz ATRC - “Lunnnaya polyana”, which will double the length of the slopes and proportionally increase the throughput of the resort.

At the end of the conversation, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers was assured that the Company will maintain the positive dynamics of development of tourist sites in the coming years. In this regard, today at the Forum, NCR OJSC will sign an agreement with the French company POMA which will supply equipment for the tourism cluster facilities based on the principles of long-term financing,” said Lev Kuznetsov, Minister of North Caucasus Affairs.

“We need to be sure that an adequate team was formed. This equipment is very difficult in operation,” said the Prime Minister. Director General of NCR OJSC invited Dmitry Medvedev to visit one of the tourist facilities in the cluster to get acquainted with the infrastructure and evaluation principles of operation applied by NCR OJSC.

The Prime Minister said he planed to personally assess the infrastructure of one of the resorts of the tourism cluster in the next ski season.
