More than 250 thousand people spent their holiday in Elbrus in 2016/2017 season

The number of guests who visited All-Season Tourist and Recreational Resort Complex Elbrus in the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic in 2016/2017 ski season that lasted from late November until early July, was about 253,000 people. Relevant data are provided by the Republican Ministry of Resorts and Tourism.
Oleg Gorchev, Director General of JSC NCR, when commenting on the results of the winter season, noted that the popularity of the resort, growing each year, is an expected result of comprehensive efforts in tourism infrastructure development in the Elbrus region, being implemented by Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts and JSC Elbrus Resort with the support of the Government of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Ministry of the Northern Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation. ‘Elbrus is the gem of tourism not only of Kabardino-Balkaria, but of whole Russia. I am sure that in the future, given the anticipated development and improvement of the resort, the number of guests at the highest mountain in Europe will only increase,’ he said.
Oleg Gorchev recalled that Elbrus resort has its own regular audience. This is confirmed by the high level of return tourist flow (in the past season, according to the market research conducted by GEPITsentr-2 LLC by order of Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts, it exceeded 55%). From year to year, the number of new guests is growing.
The core of Elbruc ATRC visitors (i.e. 42 percent) are guests from Moscow; many tourists also come from cities and towns of the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. The choice of the resort as a holiday destination is based on recommendations from friends and acquaintances, the services value for money and quality of ski slopes and own positive experience with the previous visit to the resort.
94% of respondents arrive at Elbrus for skiing on the slopes of the highest peak in Europe. Guests prefer long-term rest format: in the past season, 43% of tourists spent at the resort 8 to 14 days, that is by 15% more than last season.
The level of overall guest satisfaction with Elbrus resort and their desire to return in the new ski season remains traditionally high: according to the results of 2016/2017 winter season, the figure was about 72%.
Let us recall that in 2017 following the results of the all-Russian online vote, All-Season Tourism and Recreational Complex Elbrus won the grand prix as The Best Ski Resort in Russia, of the award Sports Industry Leaders within the 13th International Congress of Winter Sports Industry, Tourism and Active Recreation.
